Amsterdam Square

Here on a rock on the north-east corner of Avenue Road and St. Clair Avenue West is a plaque which says:
Dedicated and Named as Amsterdam Square May 16, 1974. On the occasion of the official visit to Toronto of a delegation headed by the Burgomaster of Amsterdam, Dr. I. Samkalden, to commemorate the twinning of this City with the City of Amsterdam, The Netherlands. David Crombie, Mayor. Gordon T. Batchelor, City Clerk.
