Flag I'm Silvia. I'm 13, and I live in the U.S.A. I very much like Meg Cabot and her books. They are incredibly addictive and fun, entertaining, and delightful. Not so much action, in the car-chase sense, but much social and romantic drama. This book falls into two genres that I love: historical fiction, and romance.

Here's my review of the book
Nicola and the Viscount
by Meg Cabot.

What this book is about:

This book is about a girl named Nicola Sparks during her London Season. It takes place in the year 1810, in London (obviously). You are probably wondering what a "London Season " is. Called the Season for short, it is the summer after a young lady turns 16, and becomes a lady. During a lady's London Season, she should have no more and no less than nine appointments, parties, and other extravaganzas per week. The point of a girl's Season is to introduce her to Society, and, more importantly, snag a wealthy and highly suitable husband. Nicola, an orphan, and an heiress of a small Abbey in the country, has her eyes set on one particular gentleman, Lord Sebastian Bartholomew, or, the Viscount Farnsworth. Lord Sebastian is very wealthy, charming, and attractive, which is enough to have Nicola nickname him the God. He is the older brother of a former schoolmate of hers, Honoria Bartholomew. When she was still in school, Nicola received a complement from the God, and to makes things even better, she, and her maid, has been invited to stay with the Bartholomews for the entirety of her (and Honoria's) Season. But, as in everything, there is a catch. Nathaniel Sheridan, the older brother of her most bosom friend, and the son of the motherly figure in her life, has always been a tease. But this is more than teasing, than tying one's braids to the back of your chair. Nathaniel is casting doubt as to `the God's character! Determined to prove the most irritating man wrong, Nicola sets to investigating, and what she finds out holds her heart on a tightrope of love, and despair, and hate.

What I think about this book:

This book takes place in the Regency era, which really is the best, and is just the type of thing that I like. It has a wonderfully happy ending, which I love in a book. The heroine takes matters into her own hands and helps save the day, but there is also an aspect of her one true love rescuing her from dire straights. I loved this book, although there were some cliches that had to be overlooked for the sake of quite an enjoyable book.
