Chocolate Fever
by Robert Kimmel Smith.
What this book is about:
This is one of my favorite books. It is about a boy named Henry who loves chocolate (like me). He would eat his chocolate on anything. One day at school, Henry started feeling a little weird. Then, he realized that he had brown freckles on his arm. They were not there that morning! Henry showed his arm to the teacher. The teacher told Henry they were just freckles but Henry disagreed because he had very clear and delicate skin. Before he knew it, Henry had little brown spots all over! He had eaten so much chocolate he got chocolate fever. Henry was terrified! He ran away. He met this truck driver named Mac. Henry spent time with Mac, talking, and laughing. But Henry started missing home- a lot. Eventually, he found his way home. One day at breakfast, just as Henry was about to pour chocolate on his pancakes, he changed his mind. The whole family was surprised. Henry had plain old maple syrup. But he felt like something was missing. Cinnamon! Henry put some cinnamon on his pancakes. He liked it. He loved it! Henry wondered what cinnamon would taste like on everything else? Would he ever get cinnamon fever?

I love this book even more than Henry loves cinnamon
