Here's my review of the book
Raven Rise
by D.J. MacHale
from the series
Pendragon.

What this book is about:

Bobby Pendragon, the leader of the Travelers, has quit. After defeating Saint Dane on Ibara, he sealed the flume and settled down to live as a normal person, living as a quiet man on the island village of Rayne. But Saint Dane doesn't give up that easily. Although Bobby thought he'd trapped himself and his worst enemy together, the Convergence had already begun.
Now Mark and Courtney, Bobby's acolytes, and the rest of the living travelers, are on their own. On Second Earth, Courtney woke up to a world with technology 60 years ahead of what she knew. On Third Earth, Patrick Mac, that territory's Traveler, woke up first to a world even more advanced than his own and then to one millennia more primitive. As Courtney, Mark, and the Travelers investigate, they realize quickly that a cult called Ravinia is to blame for the changes. At it's head: another traitor so-called Traveler in service to Saint Dane. Will they be able to overthrow Naymeer? Can Earth- and Halla- be saved? And, perhaps even more importantly, will Bobby retake his place as lead traveler?

What I think about this book:

I thought it was fantastic. However: on the other eight books, it was bearable to wait until I could get the next adventure from the library, because of the note Mr. MacHale left the book on. On this penultimate Pendragon (Has a nice ring to it, no? Mr. MacHale coined the phrase.. although neither word is new. Penultimate means the second to last in a series or sequence), the final stroke leaves you breathless, thirsty for more. I can't wait until Book 10 comes out!

Where I got this book from:

Barnes and Noble.

Other books by this author that I like are:

Books 1-8 of Pendragon: The Merchant of Death, The Last City of Faar, The Never War, The Reality Bug, Black Water, The Rivers of Zadaa, The Quillan Games, and The Pilgrims of Rayne.
