I'm Kathryn. Alan, for some reason the order of mine and Isabelle's messages (the top 2) are the wrong way around. Isabelle's was posted on the 17th, its says, and has the NEW mark but it's below mine. Was it a mistake?

I'm Kathryn. Hi! Isabelle and Cindy C, thanks heaps! Thankfully a whole load of books arrived for me to read from Amazon yesterday so I have something to keep me occupied now! Anyway, I'm going to try and stay off the computer as much as possible from now on.
Isabelle, thanks for the idea of calling my friends but unfortunately they are overseas on holiday so I can't really call them.. they probably don't even have a phone number.. lol. Plus there's the time difference. Thanks anyway.

I'm Isabella. Hey, Kathryn! My mom used to do something like if you practice10 minutes of piano (I take piano lessons) you get half an hour on the computer. If you do it that way kind of as a reward like Cindy C. said, you would have time on the computer and time reading a book (like read 10 min.s and get 30 min.s on the computer, or something like that!). That usedto work for me! Now I always have something to do though.
You also said that your friends were overseas? Why not calling them if you have their phone number! My cousin (she is also my best friend!) lives in New York. If I've got nothing else to do, I give her a call! Ireally hopethis helps!! Good luck, and have a good summer!!

I'm Cindy C. Hi Kathryn! I have that problem too! I would start a book and then see my sisters playing webkinz or other sites and I would join in. So I decided to let myself play the computer as a reward, like if I write a book review, I'd let myself on the internet for a while or something like that. Or you can just time yourself and make sure your computer time isn't over 1 hour. Hope that helped!

I'm Kathryn. Hi everyone. I need your help...
Since summer started for me about 2 weeks ago I've found myself with less and less to do... and end up putting myself in front on the computer and wasting away my time by doing random things on the internet like neopets, youtube, etc. I don't want to spend so much time on the internet because I know it's bad for me and I feel like I'm wasting my summer away but I really don't have anything else to do. My friends from school are all overseas and so I can't even hang out with them :( Any help would be really appreciated. Do you think I should just ban myself from the computer altogether for a while?

I'm not sure if this is what you were asking (Did you mean to write "aliens"?), :) but I believe that there is life outside our solar system, or perhaps even in it--some of the planetary moons have conditions for possible life...I was watching the Discovery Channel and it mentioned one of Jupiter's moons having ice or water, I think.

I'm Sunshine. Wow, I have a lot of grounds to cover. This weekend, I was on vacation and I got really bad sunburn, and it is peeling, and it hurts so bad. Next, I am really scared. I was on myspace, and I accidentally gave out way more info. about myself than I should have, and this guy is really creeping me out. It says that this guy is 21 and stuff, and he bribed me into some stuff about giving him my address. I am SO STUPID. So then, I told my parents and they didn't do anything. Please please help me, I don't have a clue what to do!

Stephanie, I know what you mean. Some of my friends do like books but they're not quite as obsessed as I am. For example, a month or so ago in school we had something called Reader's Cup where we were in groups of 4, we each read a book and answered questions on it as a group. The only person who finished the book was me! True, we only had the weekend to read it because there weren't enough for everyone in the library but still.. they were really shocked. Also a lot of the people in my school aren't native English speakers because it's and international school and the thought of a book in english just puts them off. So I guess I am pretty alone in my book world - of course, that's why it's so great to be on this site :)

I'm Stephanie. I think this website rocks! It is a good way to look and see what other people think are good books! I just finished another book last night. I think books are fun! All of my friends hate books, and i do not understand how! I tell them "just read one that looks good, you might find you like it" and they say "why waste my time on paper?" Hi crystal. The only books you can read on-line are those that are out of copyright. All books written before 1923 are now out of copyright (that's 85 years ago). If you want to read books that are newer than 85 years old, you must buy the book or borrow it from a library. A website called Project Gutenberg has books more than 85 years old that you can read on-line.

I'm Arya/Eowyn. Hi Maddie! Really? I do, too! It's got some wonderful recommendations, and expresses a lot of the things that I feel. I think that the author raised a few teens...lol. Hi Sunshine! Great to have you here! Your name's not weird at all. I had a really cool sub once who's name was Steve. His mom was kind of a hippy, and so his sister's name was Rainy Sunshine and his brother's name was equally as cool (I can't remember it). Anyway, I think that would be really cool to have a name like that in real life. (Does that make me a hippy? Lol) It's cool that your librarian recommended it; it seems the word is spreading. Hi Kathryn! I did enjoy the first HP..as much as I could, anyway. However, with all the warnings I received from friends and family whom I respect deeply, I wasn't really able to. Considering that, I would love to read them, but I don't think I'd be able to really enjoy the rest of the series considering all of the stuff about that floating in my head. Here's what I've been doing, as I put it to a friend a couple days ago:I get to sip lemonade, sit in front of the ac, hang out with my friend who'll only be in the area another month go swimming, and read... (list coming):the last Maximum Ride (huge disappointment),the Penultimate Pendragon (look it up:) )the second unicorn chronicles (don't laugh; they're really cool), and a bunch of other really cool stuff. I've also been pre-ordering books that will be coming out soon. I'll have some good reading at the beginning of the school year! Hi Alan! I really like the colors. I have to say I really missed the peach color when you changed it to white, but this is even better! If this is the result of you deciding to have some fun on the computer, it's an extremely good thing. =)

Then, I stopped for a few months and came back around July 2006...Now, I've been here for around 2 years...if my calculations are correct!
