This is the page that tells you how to
write a letter to an author

Would you like to write a letter to an author? If so, here's what you should do. Find one of their books. Look inside near the front to find the name and address of their publisher. Write the letter. In your envelope put the letter to the author plus another envelope with your address printed on it and a stamp on it which the author may use to send something back to you! Now mail it to the author in care of the publisher.

Here's an example.
Suppose there is an author called Fred Frundly and his publisher is Peabody Books in New York, U.S.A. You would address the envelope like this:

Fred Frundly
c/o Peabody Books,
1552 Ninth Street,
New York, N.Y., U.S.A.
01178

The publisher will give your letter to the author. You might just get a letter back! You can get addresses for some authors on this page.
